An experiment to move homeless people into long-term housing is still going strong

Six months ago, a portion of the Buena Vista Creek in Oceanside served as a large homeless encampment that had been growing since the early 2000s.  

More than 70 people were living in the creek bed during this time last year. Some had been there for upwards of 10 years.

Catholic Charities opens new food pantry in downtown Reno

Catholic Charities' new Client Choice Pantry and Essentials Closet opened on Monday in downtown Reno. The new location is on Eureka Avenue, right down the road from the old location at Valley Road. The facility, in a new 25,000 square-foot building, will let them serve more community members.
