Salute our heroes: Deavona Young is changing lives one veteran at a time

Topeka’s Street Team Ministry has been active for over two years now. In that time, they’ve helped dozens of Shawnee County’s unhoused veterans get the resources necessary for a shot at a fresh start.
The ministry is a branch of the Topeka Catholic Charities, but Richard Martinez, a volunteer with the ministry, says much of the work is handled by one woman with a big heart for veterans.
