How Philly distributed an estimated 1 million meals to kids this summer — and kept them busy

Cars lined up and down Division Street on Tuesday evening as volunteers passed out rainbow backpacks, solar phone chargers and snacks. Catholic Charities of Eastern Washington gathered at its St. Anne’s Children and Family Center to pass out 300 backpacks stuffed with school supplies and hygiene items for students affected by the Spokane Complex fires and other families in need.
