Thousands of Louisiana families wait for child care aid as free Head Start seats remain open

Since pandemic subsidies for early child care programs ended two years ago, the waitlist for parents who need help affording day care is growing. Some children will reach kindergarten age without getting any aid. And while that list is growing, there's another early child care program that is looking to enroll more children at no cost to families.
