Spurs’ Harrison Barnes unveils refurbished San Antonio basketball court

Growing up in Ames, Iowa, San Antonio Spurs forward Harrison Barnes remembers playing basketball as a kid on the outdoor court at his school, Roosevelt Elementary. "It had chain nets and a double rim, so it definitely made me become a better shooter," Barnes, 32, told MySA during a media scrum Tuesday morning, March 11. "It was a place where I could always go. Having access to it 24/7 was impactful for me."

Now, Barnes and his wife, Brittany, are giving San Antonio kids their own safe space to play basketball. Barnes was on the city’s Westside Tuesday to unveil a refurbished basketball court at the Guadalupe Community Center, across the street from Lanier High School.
