
Hawaii launches relief program for housing and utility aid amid federal shutdown

Gov. Josh Green announced a relief effort to support Hawaii families affected by the federal shutdown, focusing on housing and utility payments.
The Hawaii Relief Program, launched on Oct. 29, 2025, aims to assist households potentially losing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. The program, separate from ongoing TANF benefits, will offer up to four months of support for families with at least one dependent child facing financial crises.
