Helping homeless veterans: Village affords tiny but impactful change

While veterans have made countless sacrifices for our freedom, many struggle after returning home.

According to the Michigan Veterans Association, nearly 2,500 veterans in Michigan have experienced homelessness within the last year, but that number only represents veterans who’ve asked for help.

In honor of National Adoption Day, eight North Dakotan families and 11 children finalized their adoption processes at the Morton County Courthouse, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Since the celebration began in the year 2000, more than 85,000 children in the United States have been adopted on National Adoption Day.
