More than 1,000 items handcrafted for Giving Tuesday event in Portland

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is known as Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to charity, and there were heartwarming community initiatives across Portland aimed at helping those in need.

At Catholic Charities Maine on Congress Street, bundles of handmade hats, scarves and mittens adorned an iron fence as part of the sixth annual Wall of Warmth event.
