Flint shelters provide crucial warming centers amid housing crisis

For over a month, Catholic Charities and the Shelter of Flint have been operating as nighttime warming centers, offering refuge from the cold for those in need. This marks the first year the Shelter of Flint has opened its basement to accommodate women and children overnight.

Previously, these individuals stayed at the Catholic Charities warming center at the North End Soup Kitchen, but necessary repairs have rendered that option unavailable this year.
