Catholic Charities East Bay marked its 90th anniversary on November 15 at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, celebrating its long-standing work in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
The event brought together about 300 guests, including Bishop Michael C. Barber, SJ, president of the organization’s board of directors; Chief Executive Officer Mario Alioto; keynote speaker Dave Dravecky; and former U.S. Treasurer Rosa Gumataotao Rios. Rios attended with family members and reflected on her late mother, Guadalupe Rios, who worked at Catholic Charities East Bay in the 1970s and ’80s.
