Eating good: Coney Fest leads to check for HOPE Food Pantry

Food pantries are designed to make lives easier. Scanning the sparse-at-times shelves of HOPE Food Pantry, however, the pantry itself doesn’t have it easy.

So, the sponsors of last weekend’s Coney Fest at Richland Carrousel Park came in to help, with a $2,000 check.

“If you bring food, it’s always good,” said Ian Chambers, HOPE’s pantry specialist. “Money is sometimes better because you can get more from the (Cleveland Food Bank) with that.”

HOPE Food Pantry is a Catholic Charities project funded through donations and utilizes volunteer services to keep its pantry stocked and organized.
