Catholic Charities Stamford names new facility the Cohen Family Building
Published on October 1, 2026
The new Catholic Charities Stamford: Home of New Covenant Center at 507 Shippan Ave. will be named the Cohen Family Building in recognition of a $2.5 million gift from the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation, led by philanthropist Alex Cohen.
The gift provides significant support for Catholic Charities Stamford’s mission to provide food assistance, case management, senior nutrition services, and workforce development programs for thousands of individuals each year. The new building expands the organization’s capacity and brings key hunger prevention and social services together under one roof.
