The Holy Family Child Care and Development Center in Wheeling has plans to build the first “crisis nursery” in West Virginia to assist families when they are in critical need.
The future Village Crisis Nursery will provide emergency, short-term shelter and care for children whose parents or caregivers are facing overwhelming situations, including health crises, mental health emergencies, recovery needs, respite, or gaps in available childcare, explained Terra Crews, founder of Village Crisis Nursery and executive director for Holy Family Child Care.
