Volunteer seamstress mending clothes of the homeless sits behind her sewing station one last time

Every week at Catholic Charities Higher Ground Residence, volunteer seamstress Karen Martodam sits behind a sewing machine, repairing buttons and patching up coats for people experiencing homelessness. 

With a needle and thread, she provides more than garments — she helps mend lives.
